Before taking up art Jane Dunn trained horses professionally and rode in steeplechases and combined events. Having worked as a dress designer with her own label selling to Harrods and other top fashion retailers, she decided to retrain as a classical artist. Her formal training was at Chelsea Art School, Simi Studio Florence and City and Guilds London. But, in her own words, "my most valuable lessons were either in the saddle or mucking out ...."

She goes racing whenever possible and paints most of the rest of the time. Although we offer a number of paintings available from her studio, much of Jane's output is painted to commission. She usually works from photographs supplied by the client, and The Equestrian Gallery will be glad to arrange and manage a commissioned portrait of your horse or pony.
