"I like to create work which is both lasting and significant. Each study needs to capture individual features so that at a glance the sculpture is familiar."Sarah's sculptures are initially created in black wax or oil based clay on a wire armature. When the models are complete, to the satisfaction of herself (if it is a commission) her client, they are transferred to a fine art foundry. The traditional 3000 year old lost wax process is then used by highly skilled craftsmen to produce the bronze sculpture. Prior to final casting, Sarah checks the 'hard wax' model, and make any minor alterations to the detail, ensuring the original is faithfully and authentically reproduced.
