A Watching Brief depicts a single panther waiting for its prey and is another handsome and atmospheric painting of the wildlife of Africa by Dick Van Heerde. The panther is a colour variety of the leopard, with more pigmentation. In fact, the breeds are so close that a panther can even occur naturally amongst a litter of normally spotted leopards. Panthers and leopards are renowned for being solitary and nocturnal animals. In their natural habitat in North Africa, they spend the majority of their lives in trees, ready to pounce on prey including monkeys, snakes and antelopes.Limited Edition Print of 350 individually hand-numbered copies, each of which is signed by the artist.
