Restful Moment

This image depicts a female cheetah taking a rest on a rocky outcrop, with her two young cubs standing on another outcrop behind. The cheetah is the world's fastest land mammal and is capable of reaching speeds of up to 100 kilometres per hour in the final burst of an attack. They prey mainly on small to medium sized antelope and each individual animal has a pattern of tail rings as unique as human fingerprints. A mane of coarse fur is often discernible on the lower neck and shoulders, particularly of younger animals.
